From "Encounter" to "Inheritance": Continuing the Millennium-Old Pact of the Chinese Spiritual Lineage

A divine revelation spanning millennia, from the awakening of "I" to the mission of "us".

      In the blood of every Chinese descendant lies a slumbering tale of a "young hero." He is not a distant deity, but rather the primal echo within us of rebellion, growth, and responsibility. Why can an ancient Eastern myth, transcending millennia, still stir our passions today?

In the vast expanse of Chinese civilization, we rediscover the soul of a young hero.

   In the genealogy of Chinese mythology, Nezha is a unique figure. He is neither a lofty creator god nor a distant emperor residing in the heavenly palace, but a young hero who emerged from the mundane world, endured hardships, and ultimately achieved the merit of protecting the world. He represents our collective memory of courage, transformation, and protection. We discover that behind Nezha's cry of "My fate is in my own hands" lies the most moving core of Eastern philosophy: true strength stems from a profound self-awareness and uncompromising self-cultivation.

   His story, spanning thousands of years, continues to be widely circulated across the Taiwan Strait and even in the wider Chinese world. In Jiangyou, Sichuan, he is the protagonist of local legends, his presence a testament to ancient cultural memory. In Taiwan, he is the "Third Prince," the guardian deity who accompanied the ancestors across the Black Water Ditch, embodying deep-seated local sentiments and beliefs. We believe it should become a warm and powerful force in life, illuminating the journey of breakthroughs, growth, and reconciliation for modern people. The origin of the Nezha Ancestral Temple stems from a profound understanding and conscious protection of this shared root of Chinese culture.

   With reverence, we trace the threads of history, connecting the incense offerings of both sides of the strait, and in Jiangyou, Sichuan—the "spiritual origin" of Nezha culture—we safeguard the sacred site where the legend originated. This is the ancient ruins where Taiyi Zhenren transmitted his teachings, and also the place of evidence for the "rain-responding" Nezha legend recorded in the "Jiangyou County Annals"—the ruins of Chentang Pass reflect the "descent of the spiritual pearl," and the Zimu Temple on Cuiping Mountain hides the "warmth between humans and gods." The coexistence of these three realms solidifies the roots of our culture.

Our mission is to ensure that everyone who comes into contact with it can...

In the process of "tracing one's roots," one finds a sense of cultural belonging and identity.
In "tracing the source," we draw courage for "breaking the deadlock and being reborn";
In the process of "joint practice," one can feel the warmth of the blood ties connecting Chinese people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and even around the world.
We extend our arms, offering a warm invitation to "come home and visit."

To every fellow traveler

Nezha's Ancestral Temple is more than just a location or a product.
It is a mirror, reflecting our inner courage and purity;
It is a bridge, connecting the past and the future, and also linking this side of the strait with the other side;
It is also an invitation, inviting you to join us in rediscovering the Eastern power of tranquility and wisdom in this era.

To rediscover the roots of Eastern spirit and find peace for the souls of contemporary life.
Let us warm each other and move forward together through the passing down of traditions.
